SHARE Neighborhoods: Aldea Village
Aldea Village is the newest SHARE development, completed in 2006. It also consists of 10 homes and is located on Titus Road, adjacent to Club West on 5 acres of a 20-acre parcel of land that is owned by Upper Valley MEND and will eventually be developed to provide affordable housing and other community needs.
For those familiar with languages, “Aldea Village” might seem redundant (aldea means “village” in Spanish). But we chose this name for a few reasons:
1) It communicates that we are trying to do more than just build homes, but create a series of neighborhoods (a village),
2) It is inclusive to all members of our community, regardless of language or cultural barriers,
3) And finally, it has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?
